The S/S 2012 collections are certainly leaving us with plenty of great runway DIY ideas and inspiration. I've decided to make a little round up so you can get some runway DIY inspiration of your own. Let me know if you do any of these and how they turn out. Heck, send in a pic! (send to: photos at suttonlasater dot com). Most of them are pretty simple little DIYs (some of them kinda dumb actually) but maybe they will get you to thinking how you can spice up your own wardrobe with some simple DIY changes.
Add some fringe to a top or a dress:

Or you can get out the scissors and make your own fringed jean skirt:

While your scissors are out, you might as well cut some hols in that raggedy ole sweater of yours:

Add an applique to a shirt, hat, or shoulders:

Tie a ribbon around your waist as a belt:

Replace a drawstring with bright cording or ribbon:

Add lace to your sleeves:

Or better yet, add lace to your shorts....or even pop-pom trim:

Bring out your inner child and trim your dress with contrasting ric-rac:

Punch a bunch of holes in your shorts and add some grommets to stay breezy on those sweltering summer days:

Glue some flowers on your shoes, necklace, or shirt:

And while you're at it, you might as well just GLUE FLOWERS TO EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGGG:

Get some iron on letters and customize your own t-shirt a la Marc Jacobs:

Cut some long leather strips and glue them to a matching bangle:

Forget about tasseled earrings and belts from last season....PUT TASSELS ON EVERYTHING!

Add some funky brightly colored beads to a sweater:

Tie up your own dress with patterned silk scarves:

And when in doubt, just channel Nicki Minaj and think "3rd grade craft project".......GO BIG OR GO HOME! :)
